I've been thinking about this boat idea for a while. I'm excited to see it taking shape.

Here are two sketches from our Urban Sketchers Group today.
The first is a bronze statue by Mississippi sculptor Leon Koury called "Compress Worker." Ever since I first layed eyes on this sculpture, I've loved it. Today I got to spend an hour drawing it.

The second is an Etruscan bust, ca. 500 b.c.
I thought his expression was hilarious.

Here's a painting I just finished up for a friend of mine to give as a Christmas gift. I created the art digitally, and then had it inkjet printed to canvas. I then stretched it across canvas, sealed it with an acrylic coat, painted the edges out, and wired it for hanging.

These guys (Logan Hanna and Grace Askew) rocked the house. 

The 2010-2011 NBA basketball season was a great one for the Memphis Grizzlies. With their tough, never say die, "grit, grind" attitude, they made a deep run into the playoffs. It wasn't just a sporting event—it was more like a spiritual experience that ignited the city. Here's my tribute. A woodcut+watercolor I call "Grindhouse."

I finally finished up this portrait. Next step is to send out for printing on canvas. I'll post photos here when it's done.
